The Indian EV Bike space is suddenly getting exciting with launch of retro-inspired Royal Enfied Flying Flea C6 and tech-heavy Ola Roadster X+. At first glance, both might seem like electric bikes targeting a similar audience, but in reality, they are built with completely different outlook.

Design — Future vs Retro

The first difference is obvious the moment you look at them. The Ola Roadster X+ is designed like a modern, sharp, commuter-focused EV. It looks sleek, minimal and built for urban practicality. Everything about it shouts future — from its clean body panels to its digital loaded approach.

On the other hand, the Royal Enfield Flying Flea C6 feels like a piece of history. Inspired by old military bikes, it carries a retro design with a girder front suspension, something you will rarely see in today bike. It is not trying to look modern but manages to stand out.

Performance & Range — Practicality vs Legacy

The Ola Roadster X+ clearly focuses on range and everyday usability. It offers multiple battery options and can go up to 500 km range (claimed), which is massive for daily commuters and even long rides.

The Flying Flea C6, however, is built more for purely city riding. It gets a 3.91 kWh battery with around 154 km range, which is enough for daily use but not designed for long-distance travel.

Interestingly, the RE offers higher peak power (15.4 kW) compared to Ola’s 11 kW only, which means it can feel quicker and more responsive in city riding.

  • Ola → Long range, efficiency
  • RE → Performance feel, city fun

Riding Experience — Comfort vs Engagement

The Roadster X+ is designed to be easy and comfortable. It gets a lower seat height, commuter-friendly ergonomics, and practical suspension setup, making it ideal for daily rides and traffic.

The Flying Flea C6, on the other hand, is lighter at around 124 kg and uses a unique suspension setup. This gives it a more engaging ride especially in city conditions. Also the RE might feel fun and premium, but it may not be as comfortable for long daily rides compared to Ola.

Features & Technology — Tech vs Simplicity

This is where Ola clearly dominates.

The Roadster X+ comes loaded with:

  • Riding modes
  • Cruise control
  • Reverse mode
  • Advanced regen braking
  • App connectivity and OTA updates

It is basically a tech product on two wheels.

The Flying Flea C6 does get features like:

  • TFT display
  • Wireless charging
  • Dual-channel ABS
  • Connectivity

But it focuses more on experience and ride rather than technology.

Price Positioning — Mass appeal vs Premium

This is another major difference.

  • The Flying Flea C6 is priced at around ₹2.79 lakh (₹1.99 lakh with BaaS), clearly positioning it as a premium lifestyle EV
  • Ola Roadster lineup starts much lower and is designed to be more accessible and mass-market friendly

So even though both are electric, they target very different buyers.

Final Verdict — Which One Should You Choose?

This is not a typical comparison where one bike is clearly better than the other. It depends completely on what kind of rider you are.

Choose Ola Roadster X+ if:

  • You want maximum range
  • You prefer technology and features
  • You need a practical daily commuter
  • Budget matters

Choose Royal Enfield Flying Flea C6 if:

  • You want something unique
  • Design and brand matter to you
  • You ride mostly in the city
  • You want a premium, lifestyle EV

And in today’s EV market, both approaches are equally important.
