Carmakers around the world are trying to make electric cars smaller, smarter, and more affordable and that’s exactly where the Hyundai Inster comes in the picture.Recently showcased by Hyundai Motor Company, this compact electric SUV shows that even a compact car can have latest technology, high driving range, and practical inside space.
At first glance, the Hyundai Inster looks small and futuristic just look a closer and you’ll realize that this tiny EV is actually a serious attempt to redefine affordable electric mobility for city driving.
Designed for Urban usage
The Hyundai Inster is built as an A-segment sub-compact electric SUV, meaning it is small enough for tight city streets yet tall enough to provide a commanding driving position. Its styling features Hyundai’s signature Parametric Pixel lighting, giving the car a futuristic character similar to other Hyundai EVs.
Despite measuring just about 3.8 meters in length, the design cleverly maximizes interior space. The upright stance, short overhangs, and boxy proportions allow the cabin to feel surprisingly roomy for a car in this class. Some variants even come with sliding rear seats, making it possible to adjust legroom or boot space depending on your requirements. To protect nature, materials such as recycled PET plastics and bio-based materials derived from sugarcane are used, showing the brand’s push toward eco-friendly manufacturing


Inster Feature Highlights
The cabin features dual 10.25-inch digital displays, creating a modern dashboard experience usually seen in larger vehicles. Ambient lighting with multiple color options adds a premium touch, while a digital key system allows the car to be unlocked using your smartphone only.
One of the coolest features is Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) technology. This means the car’s battery can be used to power and charge external devices such as laptops, camping equipment, or even electric bicycles. Imagine going on a weekend trip and using your car as a portable power bank.
Inster is small car however Safety hasn’t been ignored here. Hyundai has equipped the Inster with Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) such as lane-keeping assist, blind-spot monitoring, and smart cruise control, making it one of the most technologically loaded vehicles in its segment.


Performance and Range
The standard model comes with a 42 kWh battery, while a larger 49 kWh long-range battery is also available. Depending on the version, the car produces between 97 PS and 115 PS of power with 147 Nm of torque. In terms of driving range, the Inster can travel over 300 km on a single charge, with the long-range model delivering around 355–370 km (WLTP)
Car is also equipped with Fast Charging and using a 120 kW DC fast charger, the battery can be charged from 10% to 80% in about 30 minutes, making it practical for daily urban commuting.
