JSW Motors upcoming lineup could reshape how new brands enter India and instead of starting small, the company is aiming straight for the premium EV SUV space with globally developed products. JSW Motors is preparing to launch interesting new cars into the Indian passenger vehicle market. Through its partnership with China’s Chery Automobile, the company is planning a portfolio of new-age SUVs under brands like Jaecoo and Chery. Here the major focus is on electric mobility and therefore most of the upcoming models are expected to be EVs or hybrid vehicles, aligning with India’s fast-growing premium EV segment.

Based on industry reports, four key models are expected to be launched by JSW Motors –  Jaecoo J5, Chery V23, Jaecoo J6, and the rugged J6T. Each of these vehicles targets a different buyer but all share a common string – modern design, tech-loaded cabins and strong electric performance.

A New Beginning: JSW Motors Strategy

JSW Motors is likely to adopt a mix of CBU (Completely Built Unit) and CKD (Completely Knocked Down) routes for India. Initial models could arrive as imports, followed by local assembly at its Maharashtra facility to keep costs competitive. The brand’s focus is clearly on New Energy Vehicles —electric, hybrid, and plug-in hybrid cars rather than traditional petrol or diesel offerings.

Jaecoo J5: The Mainstream Electric SUV

The Jaecoo J5 is expected to be the most important product for JSW Motors in India. It sits in the mid-size SUV segment, competing with cars like Hyundai Creta Electric and Tata Curvv EV.

Spy shots confirm that the India-bound model is likely to be a fully electric version, with no visible exhaust and EV-specific design. The J5 follows a clean, modern SUV design with a slightly boxy stance that Indian buyers generally prefer. It features slim LED lighting, a closed grille, and large alloy wheels. Inside, the cabin is minimal yet premium, with a large touchscreen and a digital instrument cluster.

It will also support Fast Charging of upto 130 KW and with 0-100 km/h in under 7.3 seconds

Chery V23: The Lifestyle Electric SUV

The iCar V23 is expected to be a more lifestyle-focused SUV with a rugged, boxy design almost resembling compact off-roaders. This model has already been spotted testing in India and is expected to be assembled locally by JSW Motors.

What Makes It Special is its Squared-off design with high ground clearance , Youth focused styling which will likely appeal to urban adventure buyers. While detailed specs are still under wraps, globally the V23 is positioned as a compact electric SUV with competitive range and strong off-road inspired looks.

Jaecoo J6: The Premium Electric Off-Roader

The Jaecoo J6 is essentially a rebadged version of the iCar 03 and is designed as a proper electric off-road SUV. It stands out with its upright stance, chunky body cladding, and rugged appeal something that could attract buyers looking for an EV alternative to vehicles like the Mahindra Thar.

Major Highlights includes SUV kind proportions , Likely AWD electric setup , Large battery pack (around 65–70 kWh globally) , Premium interior with tech loaded layout and the J6 is expected to sit above the J5 in terms of pricing and positioning.
