The Renault Duster has officially made its long-awaited comeback in India for 2026, marking a bold return of one of the country’s most iconic SUVs. Originally launched in 2012 and liked for its ruggedness and practicality, the new-generation Duster has been redesigned from the ground up with modern tech, refreshed styling and a stronger feature list to compete with segment favourites like the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Tata Sierra.
Renault unveiled the 2026 Duster in India on 26 January 2026, with pre-bookings already open and expected pricing by mid-March 2026 and deliveries starting by April 2026.
Also strong hybrid variant with 1.4 KWH Battery pack is also scheduled for release later in the year.

Where It Might Fall Short
No Diesel at Launch : Many traditional Duster fans expected a diesel option — a notable omission given India’s demand for diesel SUVs, especially in long-distance use.
No AWD / 4×4 at Launch : Unlike earlier generations, all-wheel drive is not be available right now, limiting off-road appeal.
Smaller Dealer Network : Renault’s after-sales network is still smaller than rivals like Hyundai, Tata and Kia, which could be of concern for buyers in smaller towns.
Pricing not revealed : The segment is highly competitive and feature-packed cars, and therefore Duster must have aggressive pricing to stand against Creta, Seltos, Sierra and others
