Tata Punch.ev Facelift: No connected DRL – What has changed

Tata Motors has released the first official image of the Punch.ev facelift. At first glance, it seems a mild update rather than a complete makeover and front Bumper has been redesigned with updated centre grill. The side profile looks same like the previous one and rear portion is yet to be revealed however no dramatic changes are expected and seems the latest ICE version connected tail lamp may be used.

Punch Facelift vs Punch.ev: More EV design language

Where the petrol Punch facelift has completely redesigned front and rear however in Punch EV there are only subtle changes to the centre grill and front bumper giving it a more EV look like Mahindra XEV9. The Punch.ev facelift ditches the traditional grille and replacing it with a smooth, closed-off nose—a classic EV design found in other vehicle also.

The DRLs are slim and positioned high, just below the bonnet line and illuminated light bar which was in the previous model is yet to be revealed. The main headlamps are housed vertically at the edges of the bumper just like the previous version .

Bumper & Lower Section

The front bumper has been entirely redesigned with a strong vertical theme and centre grill has been completely removed and lower air intake grill sits on the lower part of the bumper. There’s also a silver-finished insert at the bottom just like the older one however has been completely redesigned and looks visually good.

Also the Charging port position has been retained in front like the older one.

Body: Largely unchanged

From the side, things remain largely unchanged with tall stance, upright position and compact dimensions. Matt finish cladding on the Door and side panels are retained which give it a more muscular look.

Launch and Pricing

While Tata hasn’t revealed everything yet, a few key updates are expected:

  • A new exterior colours
  • A larger 45 kWh battery pack for improved range
  • Likely lifetime battery warranty

The official launch is scheduled for 20 February 2026, with test drives starting on 21 February and deliveries expected from March 2026 onwards
